The tree is decorated, the presents are wrapped and the stockings hung up by the fire. All is ready for Christmas Day; but do you know why we celebrate Christmas? Is it all just about Santa, what presents you get and eating too much chocolate? Of course not! Today's story is about the birth of a very special baby, God's own son. He was born to save us all. He is the reason why we celebrate Christmas and why whatever else is happening in the world we have cause to celebrate.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
