Here Come The Kings

After Jesus was born he had several visitors. We heard about the shepherds but some wise men or kings also came a long way from the east. The had followed a star to find the new king so they could bring him gifts and worship him.

Song Time

We can worship Jesus too when we sing. Our song this week is "I Love the Lord". Can you sing and dance along?

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:1-2

Story Time

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Matthew 2:10-11

Craft Time

This week we are making crowns so you can pay at being a king, or queen. The template has two designs so pick your favourite.

Materials Needed:

  • Gluestick

  • Gold paper (or you could use silver foil)

  • Cardboard (a parcel box works great)

  • Gem stickers (or colourful sweet wrappers work)

  • elastic

  • Crown Template (This can be downloaded here: Picklebums Crown Template)

What to do:

  1. Glue template to cardboard and cut out crown shapes

  2. Cover with gold paper

  3. Punch holes in each end and attach elastic so it fits comfortably on child's head

  4. Decorate with gems

Song Time

Let's finish with another song
